If you haven’t seen it, yet, Community Megaphone is an awesome site that’s been around for a while that tells you when Groups and Code Camps are happening across the nation. I’m pleased to tell you that SWFLDEV are now and will be full participants there, starting with Brandon Kelly’s meeting on 4/15 (which is listed).

And I’ll follow up by apologizing right away that we hadn’t discovered this until very recently, because it is awesome. I still blame Joe for not telling me about this much, much earlier. But I even got to exchange emails with Microsoft Developer Evangelist G. Andrew Duthie, who is Community Megaphone’s proprietor.

Community Megaphone buys us the following advantages in outreach:

First, when we post a meeting at Community Megaphone, it also updates us at UGSS (formerly CodeZone). MAJOR timesaver. Conversely, posting at UGSS gets us into the Megaphone, although there are subtle differences based on where you post first.

Second, if we can book and post in time, our meetings are automatically routed to Joe for the MSDN Flash.

Thirdly, since meetings are sorted by date, I can tell at a glance who else is going at the same time. Now if only I could get SocMed SWFL, the Partnership, and PM-SIG SWFL to post here…

We’ll still continue to update Facebook, the Live Group Calendar, and occasionally our tweet stream with news of new Group meetings as they come. But I’m extremely happy to be bringing you the Megaphone, and as soon as I can make sense of it in the layout, I’ll be sending it right back here, courtesy of their RSS Feed. Meetings at a glance!
